This is a toughie for any American (who doesn't know what the issues are), mainly due to our very insulated mass-media system. You'd think with all the English speaking peoples of the Earth, their news and entertainment would have a place in the US, but nooooo |:
It wasn't always this way. After newspapers/TV/radio got bought up by large corporations, certain trends have occurred, omissions of truth, turning a blind eye to Europe, and other shitty things. It began not long after the Moon landing, and finished up about 15 years ago... the internet is just about consumed as well.

It's an offer, for those who have insights into the issues :)
I'm well aware that the mass-media in the US is slightly insulated (probably "more", but as a non-resident I refrain to cautious statements for the benefit of the doubt). Among other issues, this one makes me sad and worried about the current state of the country. I still hope that grassroot organizations like rootstrikers.org will change the situation for the better again.
